everyone bags on the auto's but they are faster than a 5spd similarly modded Z. A few guys have gone auto to 5-speed.....not sure if anyone has gone from 5-speed to auto though. --wes : I raced one of the new Suzuki's today, jetted, piped. Talk to the guy afterwords, was really impressed. We raced twice, once off the line and once from a 40mph roll. Off the line I got smoked, he got the jump and I just never was able to overtake (shifting through gears, every shift I lost a 1/2 car length)... From the 40 roll, I nailed him, pulled ahead and he couldn't overtake me. (NO SHIFTING).. I am thinking more and more about putting an automatic in the Z. How feasable is this? What would be involved besides changing the radiator and getting the transmission computer?
